Une bande de jeunes adolescents sont à bord d’un bus qui file sur une route de campagne. Ils ont pourtant l’air joyeux, comme un départ en vacances, mais la destination est en réalité l’enterrement de l’un de leurs amis. Pendant ce voyage, ils ont beau tenter de tromper l’ennui, d’éviter le sujet, l’indicible refait toujours surface d’une façon ou d’une autre. Il s’agit pour eux de faire face à l’insurmontable, de se souvenir des belles choses, d’être révolté certes, mais aussi d’apprendre à dire au revoir, ou du moins de venir faire « Un pas devant l’autre », avant de reprendre leur route. 

A group of teenagers are in a bus speeding along a country road. While they do look happy, as if they’re off on a holiday, they’re actually on their way to one of their friends’ funeral. During this trip, they try to kill time and avoid the elephant in the room, but what cannot be said always rises back to the surface one way or another. They must face off with what feels insurmountable, remember the beautiful moments; they must both feel outraged and learn to say goodbye, or at least to take it one step at a time, before moving on.
